u/GeneralAnubis has released the translation and “Star Wars” fans should support this person. I had translated the carvings from Aurebesh before, but it was a translation to Mando that I had never tried. Even if it’s an alphabet found on an online site, you still need to know the symbols. Redditor even figured out where the lice came from without full text translation. Apparently it’s part of Exodus 10:5-6. Translatable parts are in bold. Here’s what it says:
“And they will cover the earth so that they cannot see the earth: and themThe hall eats the remnant of what escaped, which flour remainshail to you, and eat each growing tree for you are off the field:
And they will fill their homes and houses of all servicesants and everyone’s homesEgyptians; what is your fathers, nor their fathersWhat they have seen since the day they were on earthto this day. And he turned and left Pharaoh.”
This is part of the biblical text that discusses a locust plague in Egypt that came to eat everything and left the world bare. There have been many themes that intersect with religion in the Star Wars universe, from the teachings of the Jedi and Sith being called an “ancient religion” in “A New Hope” to the Mandalorian cult to which Religion belongs. However, it has always seemed to me that the teachings of the Jedi are closer to certain Eastern religions. Christianity doesn’t often strike me (or the Yahoo! article’s author) as the religion on which Star Wars is based. Your mileage may vary accordingly.
