Inside 1996 story of “Yellowjackets” season 2, winter has come. This means that the stranded survivors are trapped in the cabin they found last season. Trapped inside, they have no choice but to enjoy each other’s company. Still, after the mushroom incident, other than Crystal (Nuha Jes Izman), the other Yellow Jackets weren’t about to trust Misty. The resident theater boy Crystal teases his teammates by humming and singing to himself. Since neither is popular, he and Misty begin their engagement in episode 3, “Digestif.” Before Misty does a monologue from “Steel Magnolias” for Shauna’s (Sophie Nélisse) baby shower, Crystal asks her to be her acting coach. Their friendship continues to develop until “Two Truths and a Lie”, where Misty shows her true face.
As he tosses the cabin’s toilet bucket over a nearby cliff, two new “bros” begin to share their secrets. Crystal’s secret is that her real name is Kristen – everyone got her name wrong on the first day of practice and she didn’t bother to correct them. She got a new nickname from it, “Pistol Crystal” and worried that people would like her less. Accustomed to people not liking her, Misty empathizes with Crystal. Impulse control has never been Misty’s strength, and it’s precisely this empathy that causes her to make a terrible decision.
