The Hulkbuster MK44 appeared in the second “Avengers” movie in 2015, designed by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) to subdue Bruce if he went out too hard. The nifty piece of equipment that attaches itself to Tony’s regular Mark 43 armor only appears once in the MCU when Tony and Bruce take it out in South Africa.
Despite his short tenure in the MCU, the Hulkbuster is clearly the stuff toy set dreams are made of, and it’s entirely plausible that it would be turned into the crown jewel of the LEGO Marvel collection. The set not only includes all the design details of the red and gold costume from the movie, but also includes three light-arc reactors and a fully articulated upper half cockpit designed to hold an Iron Man figure. The Iron Man figure is sold separately, but the set includes a Tony Stark minifigure holding a hammer and wrench, and an information plate with all product attributes confirming this is an Infinity Saga collectible.
this is not the first Hulkbuster set LEGO has made it so far – the much smaller Hulkbuster Smash-Up and Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition sets are now deprecated – but it’s definitely the biggest. In fact, nothing else in Lego’s current Marvel collection comes close to the scale of the latest set. The next most expensive item currently available is the 2961-piece Black Panther costume. for $349.99A huge price difference of $200.
