While details surrounding the “Atlantis” plot are scarce, all reports suggest that the plot will focus on the lost civilization of Atlantis, although “Aquaman” will be an older continent that disappeared for mysterious reasons rather than an underwater kingdom. Screenplay changes are expected, of course, with a new writer, but in 2021 Trevorrow revealed that the plot of the first iteration of the film is up-to-date. Empire“To be able, for a generation now, to enter a world no different from their own – where their elders gifted them a basically dying civilization – I think is the right moment for this story.”
Trevorrow also he called himself A “deep cow” for the Atlantis story highlights the advanced technology of the legend as well as the opportunity to include “creatures that are no longer around” in the directorial follow-up of similarly themed “Jurassic World” films.
While everything we know so far about “Atlantis” is pretty much your standard Wikipedia entry stuff, the inclusion of actress, producer, and writer DeGraté in the final round of writing is certainly intriguing. DeGraté has only been found in three writers’ rooms to date, but all three are interesting: ahead of his time on “House of the Dragon,” he also wrote for the Indigenous-led Netflix horror show “Chambers” and the CW’s futuristic youth survival program. “one hundred.” THR Leslye Headland reported that she also wrote for the upcoming “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte.”
Atlantis does not yet have a release date.
